Lino-print Workshop – Woodland Artisan Project
A chance to learn a new, fun creative skill while enjoying the wonderful natural resources of Culag Woods.
Locally based artist Jed Grimes will teach the basics of the art of Lino-cutting and printing, using a solid traditional printing press.
We’ll spend an hour learning the basics with Jed, then take a short stroll into Culag Woods to collect and photograph examples of the local flora.
On returning to the centre, Jed will show techniques for stylising the plants we’ve chosen to provide the basis for a beautiful simple design ready for us to carve the lino plate, then ink and print our personal images onto greeting cards.
Each participant will have 2-3 copies of their original printed card to send to friends and loved ones or simply frame for proudly displaying at home.
Jed Grimes is an artist and musician whose paintings of the Assynt Landscape have brought him local prominence. To see his work go to: http://blueguitarmedia.com/index.html
