The excavations at Clachtoll Broch will be led by AOC Archaeology Group and will be fully open to the public, with opportunities for training in archaeological excavation, survey, artefact study and environmental analysis. Excavations take place onsite between Monday 10th July and Saturday 30th September 2017 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday, with a few other break days which will be advertised on their website.

No previous archaeological experience is required as full training and all equipment will be provided. Please bear in mind that work onsite will be physically demanding since we will be moving significant amounts of rubble. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

If you would like to sign up to take part, or if you have any queries, please do get in touch with Charlotte at AOC Archaeology Group via their Contact Us page. Once you have signed up, further information will be sent to you before the excavations begin.

Participation in the excavations is free but places are limited. Please sign up in advance!
